day one in SLO

We started off our second day of the trip by finding a Planet Fitness nearby to shower and take advantage of the massage chairs. Then after an hour at the tire shop, we were good to hit the road and headed toward SLO!

After 5 hours, we finally arrived at 4:15pm and headed straight for Scout Coffee Co. to relax after the drive.

After getting some coffee we looked up a place to sleep for the night and found this really pretty lookout point on Cave Landing Rd. We went out that way to find a spot, enjoy the sunset and rest up for the next day.

day two in SLO

We woke up for our second day in San Luis Obispo with the nice overcast morning and with a good night sleep. After we packed up the van, we headed down to Scout Coffee’s second location to kickstart our day.

After coffee, we walked around downtown and checked out the San Luis Obispo Mission and took a walk along the creek. Once the shops opened downtown we walked through a few and got some taffy at a candy shop called Rocket Fizz.

We walked around for a few hours until we started to get hungry. We went to the nearest Target to get things to make sandwiches. Ryker found this place called Laguna Lake Park where we sat and had a nice picnic by the lake.

After our picnic and hanging out in our hammock, we decided to check out the Madonna Inn and walk the grounds a bit. The inside was crazy looking with pink floral carpeting everywhere and bright pink, almost Barbie like, seating in the main dining room. Then we walked to the Lion’s Den and to our disappointment there were no lions, but it was still cool to see. Lastly we walked around the secret garden before heading out towards the thursday night farmers market.

The farmers market was really cool, though we didn’t spend a lot of time there because it was mostly food and produce and we knew we didn’t have the extra money to spend. So after listening to the live music and walking up the four blocks of booths, we headed back to our camping spot from the night before and made some dinner and went to bed.

day three in SLO

We started off the morning by heading down to get coffee at a shop called Kreuzberg. We got there as it opened and got to sit in one of their secluded side rooms with a big rounded glass wall and our own couch with two small tables.

After hanging out there for a few hours, just relaxing we went back to Laguna Lake Park for another picnic lunch. Soon after lunch we headed back out towards Scout Coffee to make our plans for the following day.

Not much else happened today, after Scout started closing we went back to our campsite, made dinner and got set up for bed, ready for our next adventure tomorrow.

  1. Jamie keep posting. I feel like you are taking me right along with you. Uncle Johnny was worried about augie meeting the other van live. I told him you are both smart and safe. Love you♥️
